“it was when i stopped searching for home within others
and lifted the foundations of home within myself
i found there were no roots more intimate
than those between a mind and body
that have decided to be whole”

-rupi kaur

Oh, these words! This woman. This truth.

The notion of coming home to yourself resonates so deeply with me. It seems that we’re constantly being distracted or pulled away from what matters. The greatest gift we can give ourselves (and those around us) is our presence. We must start where we are. We must bewhere we are. When we choose to do that, the softening and strengthening begins.

Deciding to be whole sounds beautiful. Especially in a world that tears us down for our imperfections, banking on our fear and insecurity. What a gift, to decide to be whole.

But how?

What does that look like?

How do we actually do it?

We take conscious moments to sink beneath the noise. We reconnect with the animal that is the body. We love ourselves, just as we are.

Like any habit, it can be difficult at first. But we must begin.

That’s why I made Breathing Room for you. I wanted to make it easy. I hope you’ll join me in taking a moment for yourself, and making it count.
