Mindfulness: An Introduction

Mindfulness is a powerful tool. It helps to reduce stress (and all our related unhealthy coping strategies), improve cognitive function, improve memory, and improve emotional intelligence. In this relatable session, I will guide your audience through an introduction to the principles of Mindfulness as well as a practice meditation. I’ll also share my insights for how to start a meditation practice so that you can reap all the amazing benefits that Mindfulness has to offer.

Knowing Better Vs. Doing Better: How to Cultivate Change that Lasts

Maya Angelou says that when we know better, we do better. However, we have more information now than ever before, and yet change is still hard. I’ll help you get real about change, sharing techniques and strategies for setting yourself up for success, leveraging neuroscience to get your mind on your side, and how to hack your motivation.

Befriending Your Inner Critic

“Who do you think you are?” “You’ll never get it right!” “You’re too fat/thin/poor/dumb/insert insult here to deserve that.” We all have it – the little voice in your head that just wants you to save face & play it safe. The only problem is that she holds you back from pursuing what you love and enjoying your successes (let’s be honest – the criticism keeps coming even when you make it). You might think that the answer lies in silencing your inner critic, but that’s not true. Let’s explore a new perspective on this pesky messenger so that you can feel clear and confident to make your next move.

How to Say No {Without Feeling Guilty}

How many times have you said yes when you really wished you could have said no?

  • Accepting an invitation to a party that you don’t want to attend.
  • Going on a second date with someone you’re not that into.
  • Working late and cancelling girls’ night to do it.
  • Putting your partner’s priorities ahead of your own.
  • Eating food you’d rather not eat just because you don’t want to be rude.

So many women share this quiet struggle. We don’t want to cause a confrontation, or upset people, or be seen as selfish or unhelpful. At the same time, we carry this quiet resentment about taking care of everyone and everything at the expense of our own interests and energy.

Imagine having more confidence and less self-doubt, feeling like you’re actually in charge of your schedule and your energy. When you learn how to say no without feeling guilty, you’ll un-complicate your relationships and turn the drama factor way down on your life. In this session, I’ll share practical tools and tips to help you reclaim your time, energy and peace of mind as you learn how to say no without feeling guilty.

Amplify Your Resilience

Stress is unavoidable and burnout is very real. The demands on our time and energy aren’t slowing down. Keeping up with life can be so very demanding. As much as it might feel like the answer is to sell all your stuff and move to the middle of nowhere, there is good news. There is another way. In this session, I will share proven methods for increasing your resilience – reducing stress, increasing your energy, clarity of mind and focus. You’ll walk away with practical tools to help curb your stress response and meet the challenges of your day.

Confidence & Clarity: How to Leverage the Wisdom of Your Body and Make Better Decisions

There is so much wisdom in our bodies. Call it intuition or a gut feeling – we all have it, and most of us have been taught to tamp it down and trust our rational minds above all else. The best approach is to let your gut decide the big stuff, and let your beautiful brain help make it happen. Learn how to interpret the messages your body is giving you so that you can have more confidence and clarity in the decisions you make, allowing you to live more authentically and with integrity.

Everyday Courage: The Key to Living Authentically

Authentic living means aligning your choices and behaviours with your values. Sometimes, that means going against the grain, disappointing people, or saying the hard truth. In this session, we’ll unpack the challenges around actually following through on authentic living and share communication and self-care strategies to help build your courage so that you can do you.

Overcoming Perfectionism {How to Stop “Shoulding” All Over Yourself}

Done is better than perfect. Don’t tell that to a perfectionist! I know first-hand the inner turmoil that plagues the mind of  the perfectionist – you might call me a recovering one.  I used to suffer from my all-or-nothing approach, leaving no room for mistakes, Perfectionists are often convinced that their way was the only way – they’re very hard on themselves and they hold others to very high standards. However, there’s a difference between striving for excellence and getting stuck in the rut caused by perfectionism. In this session, we’ll discover that difference and explore concrete ways to empower yourself so that you can be a better team player, be gentler with yourself and others, learn from your mistakes instead of deciding that you’re a failure, and free yourself up to do your best work efficiently.

Finding Peace of Mind in a Noisy World

Peace of mind sounds like something that only happens in the confines of a massage therapy treatment room or while on vacation without the kids. In other words, it’s pretty darned elusive. The truth is that it’s an inside job. “Peace: it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” (Anonymous) In this session, I’ll introduce you to self-care techniques to help cultivate a sense of calm in any circumstance so that you can get your stress levels under control. We’ll explore a blend of ancient wisdom and modern science, using breathing and meditation techniques as well as applied neuroscience to create peace of mind – even when the world around you is noisy.
